Charles McKeag, Principal

Mr. McKeag is a seasoned real estate executive with two decades of experience in the acquisition, entitlement, and development of residential and mixed-use projects throughout the urban markets of Northern California, Southern California, and Colorado. Prior to forming Seven West, Mr. McKeag was the President of MLC Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Meritage Homes Corporation (NYSE: MTH) focused exclusively on the acquisition and entitlement of infill land opportunities in the Western U.S. Mr. McKeag was recruited by the executive leadership of Meritage in 2014 to launch MLC. During his tenure, Mr. McKeag hired, trained, and led a team of 20 land acquisition and development professionals and opened three full-service offices in San Ramon, CA, Irvine, CA, and Denver, CO. Under Mr. McKeag’s leadership, the MLC team successfully executed a five-year business plan resulting in the acquisition and entitlement of 30 new communities representing over 3,400 residential units and $2.5 billion in retail value.

Prior to starting MLC, Mr. McKeag was the Regional Vice President of Land for The New Home Company (NYSE: NWHM), where he led the company’s growth into the Northern California market. While at NWHM, Mr. McKeag and his team acquired, entitled, and developed ten new communities representing over 1,500 residential units and nearly $1 billion in retail value. When Mr. McKeag started with NWHM in 2010 it was a start-up operation based in Southern California with just ten employees. By the time of his departure in 2014, the company employed 250 professionals in three divisions and had completed an initial public offering.

Mr. McKeag started his real estate career after leaving the practice of law and taking a role in land acquisition at SCS Development Company, the largest privately-held development and homebuilding company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Within his first year at SCS, Mr. McKeag was promoted to Vice President, a position he held for balance of his nine-year tenure at the company. In this role, Mr. McKeag was responsible for leading all land acquisition, entitlement, and development activities at the company, ultimately delivering dozens of new communities representing over 7,000 residential units and approximately $3.5 billion in retail value.

Mr. McKeag earned a B.A. in History from the University of Oregon and went on to earn a Juris Doctorate with Honors from the University of Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law. During law school, Mr. McKeag earned membership in the Order of the Coif, the Traynor Honors Society, and the Moot Court Honors Board. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of the Bay Area and is a frequent speaker and panel participant on land and development matters at industry conferences throughout the country.

Michael Sullivan, Principal

Mr. Sullivan has over fifteen years of experience in the real estate industry and, during his career, has been directly involved in the acquisition and development of nearly 5,000 homes. He is a seasoned professional with broad and deep experience in land acquisition, development, land use law, financial analysis, construction, asset management, and property disposition. Mr. Sullivan began his career at Citation Homes Central, one of the largest privately held development and homebuilding companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. As the Director of Acquisition and Development for Citation, Mr. Sullivan was directly responsible for sourcing and acquiring land opportunities and securing land use entitlements for new residential communities throughout Northern California. During his tenure at Citation, Mr. Sullivan acquired and developed a wide array of new communities, ranging from high-density townhomes and condominiums to single-family detached subdivisions representing approximately 2,000 residential units and over $1 billion in market value.

In 2012, Mr. Sullivan founded SRE Development Company (“SRE”), a development company focused on the acquisition, entitlement, development, and management of residential and mixed-use real estate opportunities in California and Colorado. Under Mr. Sullivan’s leadership, SRE acquired and developed to “shovel-ready” condition a wide variety of residential assets, including apartments, townhomes, single-family homes, and condominiums representing over 500 units and over $300 million in market value. In addition, SRE has provided entitlement and development services on residential and commercial projects for national homebuilding companies and public agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area exceeding 2,000 residential units.

In addition to his real estate expertise, Mr. Sullivan has a broad understanding and passion for business, with investment experience in hospitality, the restaurant industry and multiple non-profit entities. Mr. Sullivan received his B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance. He holds a California real estate broker’s license and has been licensed with the Department of Real Estate since 2003.
